The Silo Art Trail is Australia's largest outdoor gallery. The Silo Art Trail celebrates local communities and and farming history through a series of large-scale mural portraits painted onto grain silos, many of which date back to the 1930s. The trail stretches over 200 kilometres between Victorian wheat towns Brim, Lascelles, Patchewollock, Sea Lake, Nullawil, Rosebery, Rupanyup and Sheep Hills. St Arnaud will be the next addition.
Where: The Rupanyup silo by Julia Volchkova is the closest to Horsham. To get there, head east along the Wimmera Highway via Murtoa.
Horsham's 'Art Is...' festival is hosting a virtual workshop with Australian artist Ilka White. The workshop will focus on how to make rag rugs using an off-loom, spiral-woven braiding technique. The workshop will share an inspiring range of colour and design possibilities, as well as covering cloth and fibre types. Bring your own material - it is a great way to recycle old clothes and fabric.
When: Saturday 4 July, 10.30 am - 12 pm
Where: via Zoom link
