TWO people from the southern Melbourne suburb of Frankston are among the latest to breach the Chief Health Officer's coronavirus directions.
On Tuesday morning, Victoria Police said the duo was found hiding in Murtoa in the past 24 hours.
"They were found to be staying in Murtoa with no valid reason for travel," it said in a media release.
FROM APRIL: Police issue fines in Horsham
There are 30 active cases of coronavirus in the Frankston municipality according to Monday's COVID-19 update from the Victorian government. There are none in Yarriambiack, though Horsham recorded one new case and one recovery on Monday.
Police issued a total of 79 fines in the past 24 hours, 23 of them for people not wearing a face covering when leaving home for one of the four approved reasons. The fine for not wearing or carrying a face covering is $200, according to the DHHS.

Five of these infringements were issued at vehicle checkpoints set up around Melbourne, where a stage three lockdown is in place to manage a wave of coronavirus cases which began earlier this month. A total of 21,481 vehicle checkpoints were conducted in the 24 hours to 10.30am.
In Melbourne and Mitchell Shire, people can only leave their homes to shop for food, exercise, provide care or work and study.
Across the rest of Victoria, residents must wear masks when they cannot maintain a distance of 1.5 metres from every other person.
Victoria Police can issue on the spot fines of up to $1,652 for individuals and up to $9,913 for businesses for:
- Refusing or failing to comply with the emergency directions
- Refusing or failing to comply with a public health risk direction
- Refusing or failing to comply with a direction by the Deputy Chief Health Officer to provide information.
Fines of up to $20,000 for individuals and $100,000 for businesses are possible through the court system.
