Highlight of the day should be the Decron Horse Care Pace for the faster assessed pacers over the 2200 metre journey.
While light on numbers, the race promises to be an intriguing affair with five of the six starters and driver's tactics likely to determine the final outcome.
Former Queensland mare Melanna Beach trialled well at Terang recently in preparation for her first-up run for trainer Jason Camilleri.
Luvyoubabe is also first up from decent spell for in-form trainer Courtney Slater. The 5YO mare is the winner of 8 races and $90,000 stakes from just 27 starts and will be hard to beat if anywhere near her best.
Ex-Kiwi gelding Steam Punk has been luckless in recent runs for the Manning/Campbell and is right in this contest.
Big Gun Johnny looked in need of the outing when resuming three weeks ago at Ballarat after twelve months away from the racetrack. He'll strip much fitter at Horsham and has the ability to take this race out.

IN OTHER NEWS TODAY:
Glenorchy owner/trainer and Stawell HRC stalwart Greg Cooper landed a winner at last week's Ballarat fixture when Local Icon led from barrier to post with Grant Campbell in the sulky.
The 4YO gelding was having his fourth race start and built on the promise of a recent third placing at Stawell to score in tradesman-like fashion.
Campbell made the most of Local Icon's early dash to quickly find the lead. The combo rolled along contentedly until the tempo quickened with 400 metres to go. Campell held his charge together rounding the final bend and upon straightening, the son of Grinfromeartoear USA knuckled down to the task and went on to score by ten metres at the post.
Local Icon was bred by Greg's father, the late Reg Cooper who made a lifelong contribution to racing in this area.
Ararat owners Geoff and Jan Morison have enjoyed plenty of success during their near 50 year involvement with "the trots" but last Wednesday was a "first" as they celebrated two winners, two hours apart and at two different venues across Victoria.
The first leg of the Morison's double came up at Ballarat when 5YO trotting gelding Querencia finished the race off strongly to score by 6 metres with Glen Conroy taking the driver for his sister & trainer Ann-Maree.
A couple of hours later promising 3YO square-gaiter Here's To You Jimmy ran home in stylish fashion to salute at Shepparton. The son of Bacardi Lindy USA wasn't fazed by the switch from the mobile to strands and made it two-on-the-trot while serving notice of even better things to come.
MAKING NEWS ACROSS THE WIMMERA:
Horsham owners Daryl and Fran Edwards enjoyed the welcome return to racing by their very smart 5YO mare Goodtime Heaven at Bendigo on Saturday night as the daughter of Rock N Roll Heaven took out a $20,000 sprint contest for the girls.
Driver Michael Stanley knew he was partnering the best horse in the race and had no hesitation working her three wide, mid-race from the second row to occupy the spot outside the leader at the bell.
Goodtime Heaven was having her first run since April and despite doing all the bullocking work scored by five metres in the terrible wintery conditions - a terrific effort by horse and trainer Courtney Slater.
From only 23 starts, "Heaven" boasts the fine record of 13 wins, 4 minors and a bank of $247,487.
They're off @ Horsham (D) Thursday 27th; Maryborough (D) Monday 31st; Stawell (D) Sunday September 6th & Terang (N) Saturday 12th.
