It has been a long wait for finals football for Seb Ross.
The former Horsham Demon will end a nine-season finals drought when St Kilda takes to the field against the Western Bulldogs in next Saturday's elimination final.
COVID-19 UPDATE: Number of active cases in regional Victoria falls to mid-teens
Meanwhile, Jarrod Berry is expected to return for Brisbane's qualifying final against Richmond next Friday.
The former Horsham Saint has been sidelined since early September with a shoulder injury, though Lions coach Chris Fagan said his midfield jet was nearing full fitness.
"We'll probably keep Jarrod Berry out till the first round of the finals," Fagan said before his side's 17-point win against Carlton on Saturday.
"He probably could have played, but we'll just go with a low-risk strategy with him."
Berry missed selection in the fan-voted 22-under-22 squad this week, drawing criticism from some.
"Let's go, but no Jarrod Berry??" Lions teammate Charlie Cameron said.
Sydney Swans defender Jake Lloyd also has a right to feel unlucky after missing out on selection in the 40-man All Australian squad.
The Horsham Demons product finished the season with the most kicks of anyone in the competition, and placed third overall for disposals, with 439.
MAKING NEWS ACROSS THE WIMMERA:
It is shaping to be a turbulent off-season for Edenhope-Apsley export Tom McDonald.
Having finished ninth with the Melbourne Demons, the 28-year-old has found himself the subject of incessant trade rumours.
McDonald kicked seven goals in nine games this season, as he slid down the pecking order at the club.
North Melbourne is reportedly interested in the key forward, who still has two years left on his contract.
Oscar McDonald is off-contract at the end of the 2020 season, with no news yet from Melbourne about the 24-year-old's future.
