An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said he was transported in a stable condition.
12.15pm: HORSHAM's main street has reopened after an incident in which an elderly man was injured around midday.
Police were called to the section of Firebrace Street between Pynsent Street and Roberts Avenue, blocking off the road while an ambulance arrived.
Highway Patrol Senior Constable Andrew Gardiner said the man had been crossing the street when a car reversing out of a parking space knocked him over.
"He has been taken to Wimmera Base Hospital," he said. "He needs to be assessed still, so there is no information on his injuries at this stage, but he was conscious and breathing.
"It's very early in the incident so we are just starting investigations."
More to come.
