Looking for a Friday night out? You can head back to the Horsham cinema

After months providing take-away snacks for movie home-viewing, the cinema has lined up films including Never Too Late, Rams and Trolls World Tour to kick off the post-COVID-19 screening scheduled.

Manager Kerry Bolwell said that two cinemas would each sit 20 and one would seat 13 for the sessions.

"We're hoping to be back at 25 per cent capacity later in the month," she said.

"We're pretty happy to be putting on screenings."

On Tuesday Ms Bolwell started letting patrons know that they were reopening and the bookings had since started to flow in.

She said that people were "very happy" and "excited" to get through the doors.

"We're getting Trolls World Tour. I know a lot of parents have been asking," she said.

"I know quite a few people whose children still want to see it in the cinemas."

There is a diverse offering of movies for the opening weekend.

Never Too Late is about a group of retirees who look to escape from a retirement home, Rams is a comedy-drama about a sheep war between characters played by Sam Neil and Michael Caton and Trolls World Tour is the sequel to the 2016 hit Trolls.

Other films to be screened include Christopher Nolan's Tenet, the latest in the Bill & Ted franchise, Bill & Ted Face the Music, Honest Thief starring Liam Neeson and romantic-drama After We Collided, the sequel to After.

Screenings will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday, as well as a session Tuesday morning.

"I did an email campaign this morning for all our subscribers," Ms Bolwell said.

"I promised them they'd get the news first."

People heading to the Pynsent St cinema will find hand sanitiser stations, temperature checks and will be expected to wear masks when not eating or drinking.

Names, phone numbers and postcodes will also be recorded as part of COVID-19 measures.

After every session cinema staff will clean up and wipe down the seats.

"We're just going to try and keep everything smooth," she said.

Ms Bolwell said starting times have been spread out to prevent congestion in the foyer and work had been done on the ticketing system.

She said they had been "doing all right" during the lockdown.

"We've been doing our takeaways popcorn and choc-tops - choc tops are always a favourite in this town," Ms Bolwell said.

"So, we've been plugging along with that, keeping us busy and doing a few bits and pieces."
