"I really wanted to be a sparkie since I went to a career day with school and learnt some information about the trade," Tom said.
"I really enjoy working with the team at Laser. The opportunities they've given me have been unreal."
Cam is now at Horsham Electrical Contractors.
"I chose Fed Uni because I knew many people that had also chosen them and had heard they have great facilities and staff," he said.
"After my apprenticeship I plan to study to become an A-Grade electrician and maybe even go back to university as a mature-age student to study electrical engineering."
These career paths are something Federation TAFE highly support and recognise the need for.
"Federation TAFE supporting VET in Schools helps give local employers the skilled workforce they need," Pro Vice-Chancellor, Vocational Education and Training Federation TAFE, Liam Sloan
"Having access to training and assessment at our campus in Horsham is a real advantage for students, who don't need to travel to a larger regional centre or to metro Melbourne."
