After last year's Relay for Life had to be cancelled the night before the event, this year the committee has gone virtual to ensure the event still goes ahead.

One of the event organisers, Tami Lane, who has been a part of the organisaing committee for nine years, said it will be very disappointing not to be able to come together as a community for this event.
"We're all disappointed not being able to see our teams face to face and having that amazing atmosphere at an event," she said.
"Given what's happening we can't risk having a face to face.

"We are encouraging teams to plan their own little fundraisers."
Ms Lane said it would be great to see teams get together and live stream their events and get their mates to sponsor them.
"We need to think outside the square," she said.
"We all sponsor kids for their walk-a-thons and things, let's challenge each other to find one of our friends and make a donation.
"Just not get takeaway for one night and use that as an amazing donation, give up soft drink for a week, or do a morning tea at work. Just something little but give something up for something to give back."

Ms Lane encouraged to livestream events so friends can boost one another or challenge one another to get more donations.
"We have small teams of two, and if they are in their backyard, their friends might say, do another 10 laps around the washing line and I'll donate another $20," she said.
The committee are encouraging all size teams to do what they can and be creative.
Ms Lane said the committee are more dedicated than ever, with many areas not longer able to fundraise.
"Cancer never rests and neither do we," she said.
"As a committee we don't stop doing our work to raise those essential funds so Cancer Council can continue to do their work.
"Their patients probably needing more support now than ever.
"What if the funds going to a research project and the funds have run out? What do you do?"
