A Grade coach Rebecca Skrabl said she was pleased with how the club progressed ahead of the season.
"In A and B grade they're mainly girls who have played here for a number of years, and probably about 80 or 90 per cent of them have come up through juniors."
Ararat's depth in talent was evident in 2019 when they finished in the top three spots on the ladder in the A Grade, B Grade, C Grade, and Under 17.
Skrabl said this has partially stemmed from the club's efforts to build from its foundations.

Skrabl said she anticipates the A Grade team being tactically flexible.
"I'm looking to give us a bit of adaptability," she said.

Ararat lost its Good Friday season opener, 55-44.
