The band announced they are in early talks with Horsham City Council about the proposed festival via Facebook on Sunday.
They are looking for support and potential bands to fill the event's roster.
Horsham City Council director of Communities and Place Kevin O'Brien said while the proposal was still in its early stages he hopes a renewed live music interest in the region would help its recovery.
"Horsham is the ideal location for shows of this nature and council is looking to increase the amount of drawcard events held in the Wimmera," he said.
"Following the past 12 months, it is important that our region continues to rebound with events that give everyone something to look forward to.
"The proposal for this particular festival is still very new to the council but we are looking forward to hearing more about it from organisers."
