A Victoria police spokesperson said the Northern Grampians Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fire which destroyed thousands of bales of hay and storage sheds in St Arnaud on Sunday,11 April.
Emergency services were called to Charlton-St Arnaud Road about 7.30am where the blaze had taken hold of the hay.

The spokesperson stated the fire destroyed approximately 8500 bales of hay valued at approximately $1 million and caused approximately $2 million worth of damage to the storage sheds.
The fire is expected to smoulder for several days.
Arson chemists and detectives are continuing to investigate the cause of the fire.
