The VLine cup and the under 12-carnival in Dimboola (club-based) are the region's only forms of representative action.
AFL Wimmera-Mallee Manager Jason Muldoon recently informed the Wimmera Mail-Times that there would be no official junior or senior interleague football this year.
Muldoon said the decision had been made due to COVID-19 and cost concerns.
"They sort of put it on the backburner for this year and hopefully they might look at it next year," Muldoon said.
The last time teams from the Wimmera-Mallee played an interleague game was in 2019, when the WFNL side comfortably accounted for the Murray League by 45-points and the HDFNL side beat Loddon Valley by 34-points.
