Fellow premiership fancy and top three side Warrack Eagles, hosted the Giants in round 11 and in showery and wet conditions, they fell just short of inflicting the Giants' first loss of the year.

The Giants always held the scoreboard advantage throughout the match, but it was always slender, as they led by just six goals at three-quarter time.

The Eagles won the final term 11-9, but it wasn't enough as the Giants held firm to win 37-33, to keep their perfect record in tact.

Southern Mallee Giants coach Mikayla George was proud of her teams efforts in such a tight contest.

"It was a really tough game to be apart of, Warrak definitely served it right up to us that's for sure," she said.

"They always have a fair bit of fire in the belly and passion and the desire to win.

"We had a few misty showers, which really took the pace off the game for our normal fast-paced mid court game.

"It was a really hard fought game by both side and it was definitely nice to come away with the in the end."

At opposite ends of the court, Catie Hickey fierce in defence for the Giants, while Steph Thomson held her nerve in front of goals, scoring 17.

George said Warrack played the conditions well, but it was her sides' composure which helped secure the victory.

"They played the ball quite low around the goal ring, which helped them get nice and close which definitely helped their shooting," she said.

"We just had that ability to keep a level head.

"When things get a bit physical and if a call doesn't go your way, the ability of the girls to bring it back and play that style of netball we are known for.

"Our defensive pressure right through the mid-court was really impressive, hands over the ball and our talk was really up today too.

"Our mateship and comradery within the team is so great and something that no other team has and I think that aids in our success."

In the other round 11 A Grade matches, Minyip-Murtoa scored a 10 point win over the Rats at Alexandra Oval.

Delaney McLoughlan led the way for the Rats in goals with 24, but the Burras Georgia Mclennan was equally as impressive helping her side score a much needed win.

Stawell also scored a comprehensive win over Nhill, helping to keep them in touch with the top three.

The Warriors led by just five goals at half time before a second half blitz pushed the final margin out to a hefty 56-39.
