The Burras headed down the highway to a gloomy and overcast Ararat, and despite the "tricky" conditions, Minyip-Murtoa showed they are a team to beat in 2021.
On a cool day with just enough rain to challenge the player's skills, the Burras were a class above the Rats winning 15.14 (104) to 4.8 (32).
Minyip-Murtoa senior coach John Delahunty was "pleased" with his side's ability to adapt to the changing conditions on the day.
"To kick a score like that, on that ground and those wet enough conditions it was very pleasing," he said.
"The conditions were so tricky, in terms of the wet weather footy, and the players really started to handle the footy better as the day went on.

"Once we started to open up the game a bit more, we controlled the footy really well.
"It wasn't so wet, but it was just greasy and so we adapted the areas we wanted to move the footy into on the go and that was really pleasing that we were able to listen to instructions."
Delahunty said the Burras put together a complete performance, with best players hard to choose.
"Ben McIntyre he was a stand-out," he said.
"He handled the footy really well in all of the four quarters and Warrick Stone battled well in the ruck and we had a good range of goal kickers up forward with Kieran Delahunty and Luke Fisher ended with a handful of goals each.
After an arm wrestle in the first quarter, the Burras flexed their muscle in the second term, kicking four unanswered goals to bridge the gap to 6.7 (43) to 1.4 (10).
In the second half the Burras continued to impress, finishing with a seven-goal final term, the cherry on top of a fine display in tough conditions.
OTHER NEWS:
After a sluggish start to the 2021 season, the Burras have gathered serious momentum, but they will be tested in round 12 in a must-watch clash against the Giants.
Delahunty said after their crushing performance against the Rats, the Burras will continue to look to improve to stay ahead of the chasing pack.
"We are building into the year quite nicely. We are starting to gel as a team and we are a bit more settled in terms of our side week to week," he said.
In the other games from round 11, Stawell scored a solid win over Nhill, to keep in touch with the top three, 11.12 (78) to 4.10 (34).
Jamie Bach kicked three goals for the Warriors, while Tom Eckel was again best on ground.
For Nhill, Frazer Driscoll kicked three of his team's four goals, with Drew Schneider one of the Tigers' best.
The Southern Mallee Giants also made a statement with a whopping win over Warrack.
The Giants, led by Luke Mahony and Jack Landrigan, piled on 19.12 (126) to the Eagles 2.5 (17).
Ryan McKenzie and Dane Stewart battled hard for the Eagles.
