The CWA State Craft Exhibition ran almost the full two days in Ararat

The exhibition was officially opened on Friday, August 20 by CWA Victoria's Immediate Past State president Mrs Marion Dewar, as the current state president was in metropolitan lockdown.

The welcoming party included Beaufort Group president Barbara Blamey, Western Victoria member Beverly McArthur, Ripon member, Louise Staley, Ararat Rural City mayor, Jo Armstrong and Ararat Rural City chief executive officer, Tim Harrison.

Prizes and awards were announced both in person for those lucky enough to attend in person as well as via video conference for other members.

The Ararat Town Hall was alive with a variety of crafts, hours upon hours of work laid out on tables. Crafts included embroidery, pottery, weaving, handmade toys, quilting and more.

Downstairs was the inaugural Ararat Sock Festival, which displayed the over 50 submissions into the festival.

Ms Staley put it best, given the delay to the exhibit and strict parametres to hold the CWA Craft Exhibition.

"If anyone could do it, it's the CWA," she said.
