The Stawell Warriors A Grade squad made some big strides in 2021, winning seven games and surging into the top five.
The Warriors scored just five wins in 2019 and finished seventh on the ladder, but led by coach Courtney McIlvride the Warriors put together an impressive season.
Stawell Warriors A Grade coach said she most impressed with team dynamic the squad was able to create for the 2021
"Just being part of this team, we have a really nice vibe going in the A Grade and everyone has a lot of fun and it is a really nice dynamic we have this year," she said.
"And also seeing the development within the team. Over the course of the season we have grown a lot and learnt to play together and I hope we can continue to do that next year.
"I think it has been so tight across all the competitions and it is so hard to work out the top teams and I think that is a real positive for the competition."
While the Warriors have improved across the board, McIlvride spoke highly of recruit Zanaiya Bergen and what she has added to the group.
"She is still quite young, but she has grown a lot," she said.
"At just 19 she has had a massive impact on our overall mojo.
"She is funny and always positive and up and about with the team and that is really impressive to have someone that young with that mindset."
McIlvride said her team have been focused on implementing different things in 2021 which she belives has improved their performance.
"We just have a real joy to being out on the court together," she said.
"Our communication and feedback are keys and we have also used data and statistics from our games with the B Graders helping out.
"This has helped us to assess our game and see what we need to work on."
Most the Warriors sides were around the mark in 2021 with the B Grade placing sixth, C Grade sitting in second and C Reserve on top.
The Warriors junior teams were also successful in 2021 with the 17-Unders in second, 15-Unders in sixth and 13-Unders in fourth.
