Firing-up the fairy lights, tinselling the tree and vamping- up the volume on the Christmas carols got this party started, but the baking made it brilliant, and the gift giving is going to make it even greater!

With school completely done and dusted, it's time for the Grosser girls to hit the shops.
No matter about the worldwide supply issues due to transport complications, I'm entering a shopping period of a few days where I expect to lay my hands on exactly what I want, exactly when I want it.
What could possibly go wrong with this plan in regional Australia?
Gosh, I found myself not wanting to mention the name of my state when I wrote that last sentence.
I've just realised that the COVID-19 experience has made me feel like the state starting with a capital 'V' is a dirty word.
Apologies fellow citizens.
Where was I?
Oh yes, Christmas shopping.
Well, before we even made it to the main street, one of my teens was waxing lyrical about the brunch refreshments which would revive us mid-shopping spree.
I was forced to mentally remove one $96 present from her stocking to accommodate that unexpected expenditure.
That same teen then transferred the $226 back into my bank account to pay for her recent desperately needed hairdressing appointment, which had achieved success, by making her perfectly beautiful blonde hair look even blonder.
This transfer of cold hard cash meant I could afford to mentally put a couple of presents back into her imaginary stocking.
It's a complicated accounting system I am keeping in my head around Christmas gifts.
It rarely impacts reality.
Truly, I must have spent at least two very long hours last week being angry at the teenagers currently residing with me, for not picking-up after themselves.
During these angry hours I prepared many scathing speeches and planned to provide no presents to prove my point.
How ridiculous!
Of course I'm going to spoil them rotten - it's a tradition.
I give gifts because I feel so grateful for my life full of them.
I have a home, a family, friends and a community to contribute to.
I've got the love of God and the desire to share it.
Merry Christmas world!
