
After an exhaustive tour of the state over the last few months, the Australian Open trophies touched down in the Wimmera for a final stop before returning to Melbourne.
The Norman Brookes Challenge Cup and Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup - along with former world no.25 Nicole Bradtke - enjoyed a sightseeing tour of the region before they were on display on Saturday afternoon at Horsham Lawn Tennis Club during the second day of the Victorian Inter-Regional Country Championships.

Tennis Victoria club development officer Kate-Lyn Perkin said having the trophies visit Horsham was a boon for the region.

"It brings a lot of excitement, especially for the kids, to show that regional Victoria, and Horsham itself, isn't forgotten," she said.
"It creates so much excitement, even the older ones - they love it!"
The AO on the Road initiative, which began in November 2021, has travelled across country Victoria visiting local locations and communities including the Murray, Yarra Valley, Goldfields and the Surf Coast.
