This year, more than 40 schools in the region, will welcome the next generation of leaders as school captains.
Throughout 2024, The Wimmera Mail-Times will showcase these leaders and highlight how they are affecting positive change in the community.

Horsham Special School's 2024 captains are Ella Massey and Aaron Turner, whil Cloe Jennings Tyson and Samara Murray are vice captains.
Holy Tinity Lutheran College's senior school captains are Rebekah Wundke and Alannah Jones.
Janay van Burren and Phoebe Whittaker are vice presidents.
HTLC middle school leaders are Rachel Reichelt, Edward Jones (captains), Annabelle McKenzie-Packham and Ethan Stanley (vice captains).
The school's junior captains are Luella Burke, Matisse Hose, Jack Arnell and Nixon Beattie.
Horsham West and Haven Primary School captains are Flynn Mibus, Elliot Tippet, Lali Gardner and Ryder Thannhauser.
Horsham Primary school's 2024 captains are Bella St Clair, Ella Schults and Nash Clark.
Meanwhile the vice presidents are Ethan Hill, Lexi Walter and Maddison Lawes.
Nhill Lutheran School's announced its 2024 school captains as Barrett Clark, Henry Zanker and Harper Crouch.
Horsham Colleges school captains are Malachy O'Brien and Sienna Walsgott, while William Schache and Molly Abbott.
At Warracknabeal Secondary College, Ayla Zanker and Ava Koschitzke step up as captains, while Cody Polack and Ella Holland are the school's vice captains.
Nhill Lutheran School's three captains are Barrett Clark, Henry Zenker and Harper Crouch.
Dimboola's St Peter's Lutheran School is captained by Chelsea Elliot and Mercedes Peach.
Nhill College's student leaders are Reinhard, Amilia (vice captains), Mayah and Scott (captains).
Will Thomas and Katie Griffiths are the 2024 school captains for Dimboola Secondary College.
