Former Lister House Horsham general practitioner Dr Kate Graham has joined Natimuk Medical Clinic.
Dr Rob Grenfell and Dr Jim Thomson also work at the clinic.
Dr Grenfell said he was pleased to welcome Dr Graham on board.
"Kate's been off on maternity leave and has now chosen to come back to work part-time in the district in Natimuk," he said.
"Our clinic draws patients from Goroke, Harrow and Balmoral and we now have a female doctor, so people have more options and it means we will be open every day.
"Kate is also involved in the training of GPs, I do some work for the State Government as a public health adviser and Dr Jim Thomson is involved with aged care in Horsham and district, so we all have other interests.
"We're very keen to have Kate helping us out."
Dr Graham said she had been on maternity leave for seven months while expecting and caring for her now six-month-old son Hamish.
She looked forward to getting back into practice.
"I'm a general practitioner but am interested in working more in the area of travel medicine, so I am looking forward to being mentored by Dr Grenfell while I complete my public health masters degree," she said.
"I'm studying by distance education through James Cook University in Townsville and will finish that this year."
Dr Graham said she would work Wednesdays and Thursdays.
"It's great, because although it's still an underserviced area, it's really good for the area to have more medical services," she said.
