It follows Mininera and District Football League voting to accept the club into the league at a delegates meeting on Wednesday night.
The Great Western Football Netball Club committee met yesterday to vote on whether the club would reform next season or in 2013.
Club president Rodney Matheson said 44 club members plus Mininera and District Football League officials attended yesterday's meeting.
"The meeting was a resounding success," he said.
"The decision was made that we would play in the Mininera and District Football League next season."
Mr Matheson said members believed returning to the field next season was the best option for the long-term future of the club.
"It was either that or wait another 12 months," he said.
"The general consensus was if we do that, we'd be lucky to get enough players to come back.
"Everyone is 100 per cent behind it.
"Even those who voted against it said they were prepared to play next season."
The club went into recess in December last year after a failed attempt to transfer from the Horsham District Football League into the Mininera and District Football League.
On Wednesday night, Mininera delegates voted 9-2 in favour of Great Western becoming the league's 12th club.
Mr Matheson said the Victorian Country Football League provided a list of timelines which the club must now meet in time for next season.
"It's tough, but it is going to help the club," he said. "We thought the hard work had been done, but it is just about to start.
"The next four or five months are going to be busy."
Mr Matheson said the club's immediate focus was on rebuilding its playing list.
"There are 30 players we had on the list last year that haven't gone anywhere," he said.
"That is a start. Now we need to find a senior coach and senior players."
