More than $40,000 in cash has been found scattered along a major road in Perth's northern suburbs in an alleged botched drug deal. Joondalup detectives were called to the Mitchell Freeway around 9.30pm on December 4 amid reports large sums of money was scattered along the roadside. Police spotted a Holden Commodore at the scene, and approached to speak with the driver. A Clarkson man was charged with possession of prohibited drugs, possession of stolen or unlawfully obtained property and driving with no authority. Footage released by WA police shows officers picking up wads of $50 notes held together with rubber bands. Some cash fell directly by the roadside, while other notes were discovered in bushes along the busy major freeway. The 34-year-old accused appeared before the Joondalup Magistrates Court on December 5. A WA police spokesperson said officers were investigating to identify a tow truck and motorcycle seen in the area at the time. It's understood the vehicles fled the area as police arrived. Anyone with information or video footage should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Help is available:
