A crowd of about 450 people gathered for the official celebrations before the gallery opened to the public on Saturday.
The weekend also marked the first show in the town hall’s new theatre.
Horsham Country Music’s Pleasant Sunday Afternoon concert raised $17,500 for the Wimmera Cancer Centre.
All 500 of the theatre’s seats were filled for the show.
This week, Horsham Arts Council cast and crew will move in to the theatre for their 50th anniversary spectacular shows.
Opening night is on Friday, with four performances to follow.
The show will feature songs from musicals the council has performed in the past five decades.
Horsham-born theatre star Alex Rathgeber visited the hall on Monday.
He is the ambassador for the hall redevelopment.
The hall’s official opening on Friday next week will include an afternoon civic reception followed by a performance from the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra ensemble in the hall theatre at night.
The fortnight of celebrations will culminate with the Blue Ribbon Foundation’s Horsham branch’s black tie ball on Saturday next week.
The Stepping It Up ball is a fundraiser for Wimmera Base Hospital’s emergency department.
