ARARAT Football Netball Club enjoyed plenty of success at the Wimmera Football League junior best and fairest vote count at Horsham’s Holy Trinity Lutheran School on Monday night.
Under-17s footballer Jack Antonio finished the season on top of the votes tally with 23 votes, beating out team-mate Grady Slocombe by five votes.
The result highlighted how well the Rats’ under-17s side has gone this year, with its only two losses coming against the Horsham Demons.
Through the 16 home and away games in 2016 the side scored 1830 points, 355 more than any other team in the competition.
Nhill’s Louis Preston finished one vote further back from Slocombe to round out the top three in the vote count.
Ararat’s Cooper Heard kicked 56 goals for the season to be the leading goalkicker.
In the under-14s football, Horsham Saint Gage Wright went home with the best and fairest award.
He tallied an impressive 38 votes across the 16 round season and failed to poll in only three games.
He finished five votes ahead of Warrack Eagle Lachlan Stewart with Ben Hobbs, Horsham, three more votes back.
