During the team’s most recent race in Queensland late last year, the car’s engine split just one and a half laps into the 24-hour race.
This weekend, the team travels to Winton Raceway in Victoria, with teams hoping to complete two 10-hour days of driving.
“Thanks to some generous sponsors we have a new motor in the car now, so the car is looking good and we are all good to go,” team captain Mark Cottrell said.
“The idea of the series is to get a $1,000 car, make it safe and try and get it through the endurance race. At the same time we are raising money for prostate and breast cancer.
“We will be on the same track the V8s use, which is kind of cool because our car is an old V8.”
