Coming up against South Australia in its third and final pool game on Friday afternoon, Vic Country lost the encounter 6.3 (39) to 2.3 (15).
Taylor said his Vic Country side found South Australia to be a bit too strong.
“The game went pretty well, we found they were too strong for us,” he said.
“Personally I think I played well and kicked a goal at the end of the day and got a bit of the football.
“They put up an awesome contest all day and came out of the gates really well and we just ran out of legs.”
Vic Country registered a 49-point win in its first pool game against Queensland on Wednesday, followed by a 63-point loss against Vic Metro on Thursday.
Vic Country will play off for third position against Queensland at 4pm today.
