Horsham woman pleads guilty to almost 300 theft charges
A HORSHAM woman has plead guilty to 288 charges of theft.
The accused, Catherine Campesato, appeared in person at Horsham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
Magistrate Mark Stratmann said he was shocked by the amount of charges laid against Ms Campesato.
“When reading the charges, I found sufficient evidence of the offences you were charged with,” he said.
“If you plead guilty to some of – if not all – of the charges, I will take into account your plea.”
Ms Campesato plead guilty to all charges.
Her bail conditions include surrendering her passport to police and not attending any international points of departure. She is also prohibited from leaving Victoria.
Ms Campesato will next appear in court on March 18, 2019.
