After a number of down years, McCulloch said this off-season has rejuvenated the atmosphere at Taylors Lake. A new football coach, some new recruits and the natural development of youngsters has provided a bright light at the end of the tunnel.
“It feels pretty hopeful at the moment,” McCulloch said.
“We’ve got some really promising juniors. Me taking over as coach was always going to be a five year plan, so we’re still building and we’re hoping these young girls can step up and play some good netball for us this year.”
After a countless number of years without a win, McCulloch said she’s hopeful a drought-breaking victory isn’t too far away.
“The goal next year is to get a win on the board,” she said.
“I’m hopeful that within those five years our juniors will be strong enough to get us some wins. We just have to wait, keep playing those young girls and keep getting better.
“We’re thinking about longevity rather than instant gratification, which I think we’ve been guilty of in the past.
“Hopefully now we’re moving forward and we’re on the right path.”
