The Minyip Recreation Reserve will be unavailable as a redevelopment project to improve their playing facilities is planned to begin shortly.
While the development is ongoing, Minyip-Murtoa's training and home games will be held at Murtoa.
Minyip Recreation Reserve chairman Trent Kerrins said they were hoping to receive funding from the shire to assist with the redevelopment project.
"The oval has been a bit uneven - the surface wasn't up to it and we didn't want to push it any further this year," Kerrins said.
"We're hoping to get some funding through the shire to help with revamping the oval.
"We're hoping to get a new sprinkler system, the old one has been there for a lot of years."
The club has not played a game at Minyip so far this season.
Their round four match against the Southern Mallee Giants was scheduled to be played at Minyip, but was rescheduled to Murtoa in the week prior.
Kerrins said they were determined to have the grounds up and running by the 2020 season.
"While we haven't received the funding yet, we've started organising some things," Kerrins said.
"We've formed a little sub-committee to get ideas from other clubs like Marnoo and Brim, who have recently redeveloped their ovals and did a really good job of it.
"We're hoping to have the ground in good shape by next season.
"It's not just for football as well, it gets used for cricket too which is important to remember."
Minyip-Murtoa president Scott Arnold said the club was committed to using the Minyip ground in the future.
As a show of their long term commitment, the club has pledged $20,000 to install new lights at the ground.
"We're committed to Minyip long term. This is a hiccup, but it's nothing we can't handle and we're looking forward to being back there for 2020," Arnold said.
"It's an exciting development project for the town."
