A man will not be allowed to drive for months, after being caught speeding and nearly four times over the blood alcohol limit near Horsham this afternoon.
In a statement on social media, Horsham Highway Patrol said members detected a vehicle travelling at 123km/h in 100km/h zone on the Western Highway towards Horsham at 12.07pm.
"The male driver returned a positive result for a preliminary breath test, and was taken to Horsham Police Station where he blew 0.182 and his license was immediately suspended," they said.
Senior Constable Andrew Gardiner said the driver would eventually appear before court.
"There is going to be a backlog (of cases due to the pandemic) so exactly when is hard to say: It probably could be after Christmas," he said.
