Delahunty entered the season under increased pressure having won the league's best-and-fairest in 2019.
The 29-year-old was again forced to shoulder most of Subiaco's ruckload and remained a standout in an inexperienced midfield group.
Delahunty averaged 19 possessions and 23 hitouts a game, which was enough to earn him a place on the interchange bench in the team of the year.
Despite Delahunty's dominance, it was a season to forget for the reigning premiers, with the club missing finals for the first time in seven years.
The Lions had won the past two premierships and featured in six consecutive grand finals.
It was the first time Delahunty hadn't played a final in his 112-game WAFL career.
He was joined in the WAFL this year by cousin Kieran Delahunty.
Kieran joined Perth in the off-season and helped the club end a 23-years final drought.
MAKING NEWS ACROSS THE WIMMERA:
Heading into the final game of the regular season, the Demons needed to beat the previously undefeated South Fremantle, and for Subiaco to lose to third-place West Perth.
Unfortunately, the fairytale run ended at the weekend when West Perth came from behind to clinch a 11-point win against Perth in the elimination semi-final.
Former Horsham Demon Matty Lloyd signed with West Perth this season, but despite impressive showings in his three first-team games he has spent the past month playing for the reserves.
