Two CFA vehicles blocked off the southbound lane of the street between Pynsent Street and Wilson Street.
A streak of oil was visible on the street and stretched from outside the NAB building on Firebrace Street to the corner of the Wilson Street intersection.

The CFA was called to the incident around 6pm.
Fire crews were seen beginning to contain the spill.
Police were also on scene.
