Dimboola secures services of three guns for 2021 Wimmera Football League season

Favourite son Scott Polycarpou will return to the club after leaving the region for university, joining Tom Cree and Brock Landt in signing on for the Roos' 2021 Wimmera Football League campaign.

Cree is an aggressive midfielder who won East Sunbury's best-and-fairest in 2019, having finished second in the previous two counts.

Landt is the younger brother of fellow Dimboola recruit, Jack Landt, and a highly-decorated footballer in his own right.

The 19-year-old played NAB League football for the Calder Cannons, and is a junior league best-and-fairest winner, interleague representative, three-time club best-and-fairest winner and was previously nominated for the Riddell District football league's senior rising gun award.

Dimboola football director Luke Hutchinson said the recruits would bring top-level experience to the club.

"(Tom Cree) is just an absolute inside workhorse. He's a really hard at it midfielder," he said.

"(Scott Polycarpou) is a local boy and he's moved back because he's got a grad year with teaching next year. Once again he's another kid that's extremely fit and will be a one-point player for us.

"We really got (Brock Landt) across because he's excited to work with the guys that are in our midfield. He's used to playing off a half-back or half-forward and rotating through the middle, but he just wants to learn a bit more off some top-end midfielders."

Last month, the Roos secured the services of gun duo Jack Landt and Dylan Tarczon.

Landt joins the club as an assistant coach, having last played for Sunbury in the Ballarat Football League. The new Roo is an interleague representative, and former Vic Country squad member.

Tarczon has spent the past couple of seasons with Riddell, having previously played for Coburg in the VFL.

It's expected the pair, along with Brock Landt and Tom Cree, will re-locate to Horsham together next year for and be available for the entirety of the Wimmera Football season.

"It's good for our group to be able to have absolute top-end players coming to training on a Tuesday and Thursday night, week in , week out, and be able to connect with them," Hutchinson said.

"We can work on things as a group, rather than having a few guys travel down on a Saturday. We'll have everyone 100 per cent together now."

Hutchinson said the club was determined to retain a core group of players, as it plotted its return to the top of the league.

"in the past we haven't been able to retain top guys for multiple seasons and then be able to drop them down in the point system.

"What we've been able to do over the past three seasons is retain your Justin Beugelaars and Matthew Rosiers, and they come down in the points system, almost to a local player.

"We've got aspirations to finish to finish at the top end of finals, and part of that is having the entire group together, week in, week out."
