Nourish'd Eatery owner, Stewart Neighbour, immediately reached out to those who needed a hot cup of tea and a fresh meal.
The cafe owner and Horsham-native placed a post on the 'Horsham and Dine-in, Take away and Delivery' Facebook page saying anyone affected by the tornado can come in and get free coffee and meals this week.
Mr Neighbour said the post had reached over 9000 people in a matter of hours, with people tagging those impacted they know a hot meal is available.
He said it's just something you do in close communities in times of need.
"A friend's mum came in and donated $500," Mr Neighbour said.
"People are amazing."
Nikita Sharp said the act of support and kindness brought a tear to her eye after the tornado left herself, husband and three children stranded.
"The thought of knowing that we can have tea or a hot drink is just amazing and so thoughtful. We can't stay in our house at the moment because of the extreme damage, but Stew and the team sure did make me smile."
Mr Neighbour said he called the SES team to let them know that if they came in for coffee this week, it's on the house.
