
THE Wimmera Pride Project is one of 26 rural and regional organisations to share in $200,000 in funding from the third annual Pride Events and Festivals Fund.
Wimmera Pride will receive $10,000 for their Rainbow Talks which will be a series of talks run throughout 2021, working alongside Hindmarsh Shire Council.
Scott Robinson, Chairperson for the Wimmera Pride Project, said this is an exciting opportunity.
"We're using the funds for a monthly series of Rainbow Talks running through January, February, March and April," Mr Robinson said.

"We're going to have a special guest speaker from different organisations to come and speak about various topics all related to the LBGQI+ community.
"It's an opportunity for our community to come together and have the space to speak about some of the issues that concern us and feel safe.
"It's an opportunity to network. People can meet each other, find some community," Mr Robinson said.
The Rainbow Talks will allow The Wimmera Pride Project to extend their community.
"This gives us an opportunity to work with Hindmarsh Shire," Mr Robinson said.
"All of our events have been based in Horsham. This is a great opportunity for us, Wimmera Pride Project, to really become more Wimmera and less Horsham based.
"It's something we haven't been able to do but it's been one of our goals as an organisation."
The Wimmera Pride Project is an important organisation to the area. It allows people of the LGBTQI+ community to connect.
"It means a stronger sense of community and a chance to speak about some of the issues that have been concerning the community during COVID," Mr Robinson said.
