Grainstore Producers Australia chairperson Andrew Weidemann said it over exceeded their expectation.
"It was raining it's guts out," he said.
"With summer rain we can lose the rain with heat but because it's forecast for a cool week ahead we can capture the rain water."

Mr Weidemann explained that water often evaporates off the surfaces but more water can be retained when there is more moisture.
"Some areas might be able to save 20 to 25mm of water," he said.
The Kitchen Kindness owner Tully Gordon said she was hit twice as the rain kept coming.
"The first lot was from early this morning from the overnight rain," she said.
"I entered the cafe and the power was off and I thought that was weird, when I turned the power on I saw there was water everywhere.
"The second lot was worse than the first. It was a painful day."
Ms Gordon had family and friends volunteer to help clear up the water.
"No sooner as we had began to mop up it started pouring down again, we could see where it was coming in from," she said.
"When the trucks came past we had waves.
"Eventually we got sandbags."
Ms Gordon said she had just received deliveries for the weekend but will be delivering some stock to those who need it.
"It's what we're about, helping others. Maybe that will balance out the karma," she joked.
The Rupanyup supermarket is storing some of the stock in their cool room.
Ms Gordon said she planned to move to takeaway and hopes to work with Yarriambiack Council to be able to work from home.
"We'll get creative," she said.
"We've only been open three months, it's a painful step back."
Victoria Police set up a roadblock in Rupunyap's main road due to cars passing by pushing further flood water into stores.
Ms Gordon said she often hears people saying this happens every time it rains.
"Nothing gets done about it," she said.
"The drainage is really poor.
"I was suppose to be spending the day in bed," she lamented.
