FIRE activity has subsided on the Rocklands-Rees Road bushfire in the Black Range State Park.
The Department of Environment and Primary Industries has advised residents in Brimpaen, Cherrypool, Glenisla Crossing, Glenisla and Hynes to continue to monitor conditions.
The fire has burned about 4700 hectares and is still not yet under control.
Rain and cool weather conditions have helped crews halt the spread of the fire.
Fire crews will continue to patrol this fire at the weekend and work on constructing and strengthening containment lines.
The Henty Highway is open, but the Black Range State Park remains closed to the public.
Residents need to be aware of emergency vehicles travelling in the area.

THE Department of Environment and Primary Industries has updated its advice message for Winiam, Winiam East, Nhill, Nurcoung.
The Little Desert National Park-Nhill Harrow Road bushfire has burned about 13,300 hectares and is still not under control.
However fire activity is very low.
Rain and cool weather conditions have helped fire crews halt the spread of the fire.
Crews will continue to patrol the fire at the weekend and work on constructing and strengthening containment lines.
The Nhill-Harrow Road is now open.
The Little Desert Park is closed.

WITH large bushfires still being combated across the Wimmera, authorities are now bracing for floods, with heavy downpours predicted for the weekend.

THE Department of Environment and Primary Industries has issued an advice message for Winiam, Winiam East, Nhill and Nurcoung about the Little Desert-Nhill-Harrow Road fire.
Crews have worked throughout the night in the Little Desert National Park.
Overnight weather conditions assisted crews to stop the spread of the bushfire.
Crews, machinery and aircraft will continue to work in the area to strengthen containment lines.
The Nhill-Harrow Road is now open.
The fire is not yet contained. There is currently no threat to communities, but people should continue to stay informed and monitor conditions.
Smoke could be visible from nearby communities and roads.
The department also issued an advice message for Brimpaen, Cherrypool, Glenisla Crossing, Glenisla and Hynes about the Rocklands-Rees Road fire.

FIRE-FIGHTERS are responding to a fire 37 kilometres north-west of the Yanac area.
The Department of Environment and Primary Industries has issued an advice message for Yanac, Broughton and Yanac South.
There is no threat to communities.
Smoke will be visible from nearby communities and roads.

BUSHFIRES near Kaniva have now been declared safe.
The Country Fire Authority has issued advice messages for Lillimur, Leeor and Serviceton; Minimay and Booroopki; and Miram South and Lawloit, saying that fires 24 kilometres south-west of Kaniva, 28 kilometres south-west of Kaniva and 17 kilometres south-east of Kaniva respectively had subsided.
Smoke might still be visible from nearby roads and communities.
The Edenhope-Johnsons Track grass and bush fire has also been declared safe.

IT WAS good news overnight, as watch and act messages were removed for Brimpaen, Cherrypool and Glenisla Crossing, and Glenisla, Hynes and Rocklands for the Rocklands-Rees Road fire.
Fire activity had subsided.
Fire crews continued to work on the fire overnight.
There is currently no threat to the community but smoke could be visible from nearby communities and roads.
A severe thunderstorm warning for the region has also been removed.
