For the last few weeks the focus of the Grampians tourism team has been firmly on our new Reactivation and Recovery Strategy.
We're working hard to make sure that the broader Grampians region is well positioned to recover quickly from COVID-19 impacts.
With the Victorian school holidays in full swing, we've been delighted to hear that operators are experiencing solid enquiries and bookings.
The latest announcement from Premier Daniel Andrews has seen Stage 3 Stay at Home restrictions reinstated for the next four weeks in postcodes experiencing a high level of transmission or at high risk of transmission.
The State Government has also announced a Tourism Accommodation Support program for accommodation operators impacted by the recent re-introduction of Stage 3 restrictions to some Melburnians.

The return to Stage 3 Stay at Home restrictions mean some residents within these hot zones will have to cancel travel bookings to regional Victoria during the period, placing additional strain on accommodation providers.
Accommodation providers in regional Victoria impacted by these cancellations will be able to apply for direct financial support of up to $225 per booking per night through the new Tourism Accommodation Support Program.
Now more than ever, we all need to work together to adhere to the Government guidelines and restrictions.
For the safety of your staff, your patrons, your family and yourselves we implore you to make sure you are meeting all the requirements to keep everyone healthy, the industry thriving and the region recovering.
A huge congratulation to "Save The Overland Team" and everyone involved in securing the Overland Passenger Train for another three years.
The Overland Passenger Train provides important local and domestic linkages with Melbourne and Adelaide and these connections will further support the $30m State and Federal Government investment in the Grampians Peaks Trail that is due to be completed at the end of this year!
Grampians Tourism has secured State Government funding to assist with industry stabilisation and recovery planning efforts as a result of COVID-19.
A large portion of these funds have been allocated to providing free online tourism listings via the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) for all businesses across our region and exposure on www.visitgrampians.com.au
Our Visit Grampians website attracts over 1.5 million page views and a listing on this platform puts your business firmly in front of an engaged audience seeking travel information, so I would be strongly recommending businesses in the tourism industry take advantage of this offer as soon as they can.
This is the third year that wine website The Real Review has created its "Top Wineries of Australia" list. Congrats to Best's Wines, Mount Langi Ghiran, Seppelt's and ATR Wines for making it into the top 100 wineries in Australia!
