The Horsham Rural City Council seeks people aged over 50 years to help plan 2021's Seniors Week activities.
The planning group will help program a range of events and activities for older people to enjoy during the week-long celebration in October.
Seniors Festival week was created by the Department of Health and Human Services and encourages older people to get out and participate in free and low-cost activities across Victoria.
The initiative aims to recognise the contribution people over the age of 50 make to society.
Mayor Robyn Gulline encouraged anyone wishing to contribute to putting their hand up to join the planning group.
"Seniors Week is a state-wide celebration of our older population, honouring them and their contribution to society," she said.
"We would love to have enthusiastic people on board to help plan a fantastic week of activities, to help us reconnect and celebrate."
People interested in joining the planning group can register their interest with Council's Community Inclusion Project Officer Daniel Rees by calling 03 5382 9777 or emailing email@example.com.
Registrations close Friday, June 4.
