The state government will hold community roundtables on road safety at eight locations in coming months, but the Wimmera will not be among them.

The consultations will take place in Ballarat, Marysville, Shepparton, Portland, Mildura, Sale, Bendigo and Geelong.
A state government spokeswoman said they were aimed at reducing the number of lives lost and serious injuries on regional roads.
"Some of the key themes to emerge from last week's Road Safety Summit at the State Library included enforcement, speed limits, technology and infrastructure," she said.
The Mail-Times has contacted the state government for further comment on its choice of venues for roundtables.

Four lives have been lost on Wimmera roads this year, including a motorcyclist at Goroke, a truck driver at Nurcoung and a driver at Armstrong.
Overall, 143 people have died on the state's roads this year, compared with 88 at the same time last year - an increase of 63 per cent.
The majority of this year's increase has happened on regional roads, with 86 people killed compared with 47 at the same time last year.
